Poignant is a series of illustrations depicting the journey to contemplate the moments in life that have left one filled with loss and regrets. It also represents the journey of self-rediscovery, an attempt to understand the frailty of life, coming to terms with the changes, and to obtain inner peace. While one may not be successful in embracing the changes, it is nonetheless noteworthy that one has tried seeking the answers.
Process and constraints
The main process was to choose a suitable color scheme followed by the composition. In addition, color adjustment was important to set the atmosphere of the image. Subtle line was used to represent the imperfections of life. A painterly style was used to give it a slight natural feel. One of the main challenges was to create a cohesion series. Therefore, the use of repeated elements was incorporated. However, this had to be done in moderation to prevent redundancy. In addition, metaphorical elements were used to represent life, change, death and the act of moving on.
